Following an incident outside his new home, Darryl Lee decided to have a full security system installed. Up to that point, his experience of dealing with security companies had been blighted by those who only supplied expensive systems and were difficult to connect with.

“I wanted something more personal and hands-on, something less institutional,” he says. “Cornerstone also gave me a good price.”

Cornerstone Security Solutions Ltd visited Mr. Lee’s property and completed a full assessment. In the end, we advised on the installation of digital CCTV to protect the perimeter of the property and an intruder alarm system that gives 24-hour protection against unwanted visitors.

“The digital recorder system is very cost-effective and stores high resolution images on the digibox for up to a month after they are taken,” says Cornerstone’s Sales Manager, Darren Quick. “Importantly, the system is fully monitored around the clock, so the appropriate personnel are alerted at the first sign an intruder has entered the premises.”

Installation

The installation took around four days in total and Cornerstone engineers worked at intervals that fitted in with the ongoing refurbishment of the property.

“There were no problems with the installation,” says Mr. Lee. “When the engineers had finished, they took me through how to use the equipment, including how to remotely access the video images from my iPhone.”

Indeed, the remote access facility afforded by the latest digital technology is very attractive to consumers. Being able to monitor your house even when you are not at home is excellent for providing piece of mind.

The monitoring system is also used to pinpoint technical faults. “I didn’t know there was anything wrong until I got a phone call from the engineer,” says Mr. Lee. “They came over to fix it straight away, though, and didn’t charge anything.”

Today, Mr. Lee’s property is fully protected and he is pleased that he is less likely to be visited by intruders than before. “The CCTV camera is very visible,” he says, “so if a criminal is thinking of breaking in, they’ll hopefully see it and move on.”

That kind of reassurance is certainly worth the investment and it need not be one that breaks the bank either.
